Brian’s was 8 pounds 14 ½ ounces, 31 inches long and a girth of 17 ¼ inches. They both caught them out in 75 ft of water in the Second Trench west of Walnut Creek. They were using Renowsky Deep Divers. PERCH: The Perch are hard to come by. Most boaters are going out in 65 ft of water to find them. A lot have stopped fishing for them and now go out for Walleye. They are catching Perch while fishing for Walleye too. STEELHEAD: I have had quite a few people ask me about the Steelhead. We had a few “stragglers” come in. There have been a few caught though I personally think it is a bit early yet. I know a lot of people take their vacations for Steelhead season. I want them to catch some fish and have a good time, that is why I will tell them most often the best time to catch them is starting the middle of October. That way there are enough fish that have come in that I can just about guarantee a catch. I also haven’t seen them jumping in front of the creek yet and that is another sign. |
